Millie's 4th Birthday Party
For Millie's 4th birthday, we held it at Southern Belle Farm in McDonough. The kids were able to feed the farm animals, pick strawberries, eat strawberry-themed cupcakes and jump on the giant jumping pillow. Millie had 9 children show up - Autumn, Sara, Will, Colin, Hannah Shae, Jackson, Abigayle, Sydney and Natalie. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves by picking lots of juicy, sweet strawberries and jumping their hearts out. The consensus from a few parents were passed out children on the way home!

Happy 4th Birthday Millie
I am just in awe that our little Millie is not little anymore. She just turned 4 years old and is a bright and bubbly child. Some of her favorite foods still include boiled eggs, black beans, just about any kind of fruit and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She enjoys looking at books and having books read to her. She can just about write the entire alphabet and already has her name down pat. She learns quickly and doesn't forget much. She has really grown into a nice little lady. She has spirit and spunkiness, while still being sweet (most of the time!). I am glad that God chose us to be her parents!
Happy Birthday Millie - it's been 4 great years with you!

Easter 2011
Here's just a snapshot of Millie and her Easter basket this year. I have never really made a big deal about Easter baskets until this year, and she just got a few things from the Easter bunny this year. She thought it was fun, and that's all that matters.

Easter Egg Hunt at school
I was able to attend Millie's Easter Egg Hunt at school in April. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves very much and they were all able to collect lots and lots of filled eggs. They even made their own Easter baskets!

Christmas in March
Okay, no, not really. But I have been absent with postings about Millie since right before Christmas. So now I am trying to get caught back up. It will probably take me a little while, but at least I have started.
Millie had a great Christmas. She got lots of things, like all kids. Pops made her a gorgeous baby cradle and Mops made the bedding to go in it, and it came complete with an adorable baby doll - Itty Bitty baby. And then, Aunt Lexi, Uncle Chris and Ryan gave Millie and Itty Bitty matching pajamas (it was a big hit).
She also got some clothes (what little girl doesn't need clothes) and some new boots from her parents, in addition to some art things, like an easel and art accessories.

I'm a Snuggle Bunny
We were trying to decide what to dress Millie up for Halloween this year. To be honest, it's not an important holiday to me and I don't really see the point in spending a lot of money on an outfit she will wear for a few hours. We toyed around with the idea of being a princess and at one point, she wanted to be Kitara from Avatar, the Last Airbender. But all of those costumes were $20-30 - definitely out of my budget and price range.
Then, I was putting her to bed one night and it dawned on me.... A Snuggle Bunny! And you might ask, what is a Snuggle Bunny? When we put Millie to bed, we read a few books, then turn on the music and lie in the bed with her for a few songs. And we call that Snugglebunnying! I mentioned it to Millie and she thought it was a great idea.
My wheels started turning about how to put this costume together. I thought about getting a bunny suit and putting a blanket around her. I was talking to Lexi about it and she suggested just putting her in a blanket sleeper and putting a pair of bunny ears on her. PERFECT! Guess what? We had all of the components for a great costume, right in her room! And it didn't cost me a dime.
She was an adorable Snuggle Bunny for sure! We went to Hallelujah Night at Rock Springs Friday night to eat corndogs and play the games to get candy. Millie wasn't too interested in standing in the lines to play a game because she had her eye on something bigger and better - inflatables! She did play a few games but decided to jump and climb up the big slide. She had a great time.
At one point, she and her friend, Abigayle, switched costumes (very typical of the two). Millie transformed into a butterfly and Abs became a bunny rabbit!

Belated Birthday Party
On Saturday, July 24, I finally threw a little belated 3rd birthday party for Millie. She was convinced that her birthday was not complete until she had a cake. So I made some little cupcakes for her Saturday morning and we decorated the kitchen. She set the table and helped arrange all the plates, napkins, cups and utensils (which she picked out, by the way....Disney Princesses).
Then her friends arrived....her cousins, Sara and Will, Autumn (she is the daughter of Tammy, one of my coworkers) and then, Abigayle (she is Millie's friend from the babysitter's house). They all played peacefully in Millie's room. We then had cupcakes and ice cream.
After a little more playing and opening a few presents, everyone piled into their cars and we all drove to Leapin' Lizards, an inflatable party place in Griffin). All the kids (and some of the adults, too) geared up with their socks on and played, played, played.
Everyone took a break and played some of the video games in another area. All that playing though causes one to be thirsty. And who doesn't love a bright, sugary, cold drink?
All in all, I think Millie and her party-goers had a great time. Until next year....

Happy Easter!
Hope everyone had a happy Easter; we sure did. Millie hunted A LOT of eggs this year (she made up for the fact that she didn't hunt last year). Jacade and I took her to the Rock Ranch last Saturday, April 3, for Easter Egg hunting. We explained the object and when they cut the line, she was off! She picked up a lot but didn't go extremely crazy. It was really windy that day but I think she still had a lot of fun. We rode in a trailer attached to a tractor. It kept us from walking a great distance, or should I say, having to carry Millie a great distance.
Then, on Easter Sunday, we had a lot of family come over to play for the day. We had lots of food, fun and fellowship. Some people went out on the canoe, some played with their dogs while the dogs jumped in the lake and pond, some went fishing, and the kids (Sara, Will and Millie) played with water guns and bubbles. I think everyone went home tired and full!
