Jesus Is My Superhero!!!

Millie had her Preschool Program at school last night (5/25/10). The theme of the program was "Jesus Is My Superhero" hence the Spiderman costume she was sporting. It was a little big (and hot, I'm sure) and at one point during the performance, the back had come undone and she proceeded to take off the costume - on stage. At least I was smart and dressed her in a tank top and shorts underneath the costume. The director saw her and motioned her over to the edge of the stage and she fixed it. But as soon as the program was over, she stripped out of it in a heartbeat (no pictures were taken afterwards of her Spiderman costume.

Here are a few videos of the performance! All the kids did really well!

Happy 3rd birthday to Millie!

Millie turned 3 years old on Friday, May 7, 2010. I took the day off from work so we could all
spend some time together. We started the day off by going to Waffle House to have breakfast. The sweet waitress gave Millie a free Mickey Mouse waffle for her birthday.

We then took her to the babysitter's house because they were going to throw a little party for her. After her nap, we picked her up and drove to the nail salon and all had pedicures and manicures. The nice lady there painted her toes and fingernails her favorite color - PINK - and put a little flower design on her big toes.

After we finished there, we went home and had Millie's birthday dinner. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner and she said, "A peanut butter and jelly." That is her favorite food right now. So, that's what I fixed, stuck some candles in there, and we sang Happy Birthday!

And the final event of the day was a game of bowling! She had never been bowling before so we surprised her with a game. She liked it a little bit although having to take turns was a little tough (and important lesson in life, I know), but she made it through. Then she and daddy played Skee Ball one time.

All in all, I think she had a great, well-rounded birthday. We are still going to have a small birthday party for her and take her to Leapin' Lizards.

Someone is a big girl!

For Millie's 3rd birthday (I can't believe I am saying that she is already three years old now) she received a "big girl" backpack from Mops and Pops. The backpack should last for quite some time and it's nice for her to have her own bag.

Months of the Year

Yesterday, on our way home from the babysitter's house, Millie was talking in the back seat. I started really listening when she said, "September, October.....(pause)...what's the next one?" And I said, "November." And then I told her through February (and she repeated) and then she said, "March, April, June, July." My mouth dropped. She had learned the months of the year at school. That was so neat to hear her repeat that.

Next week is her last week of school. She has Water Day at school today and her Preschool program next Tuesday. My baby is not a baby anymore!
