How do you spell Millie?

At school, within the past month or so, Millie has been practicing writing and tracing her letters. At first, she learned how to spell her name, and then she learned how to write her name. It is so exciting and fun, watching her personality and life unfold.

Where's Millie?

Okay, Millie really isn't hidden on the bed but this is what her bed looks like and what she insists on sleeping with every night - all of her stuffed animals. Yikes!

Millie's style

Yesterday morning, Millie dressed herself. This is what she came out wearing. A tank top, a long-sleeved shirt and another tank top on top, paired with flower power pants, purple slippers and a purple garden hat to top it all off. I thought she looked rather cute and she did it all by herself. It's nice for her to start doing things for herself....

My new favorite picture

Millie and her daddy were feeding the fish last Friday when I captured my new favorite picture of Millie. She looks so grown up (can't believe she will be 4 years old in a couple of months). She is now wearing 4T clothes and size 10-11 shoes.

Let's Get To Work

Friday of last week, Jacade told Millie that he would pay her for doing an extra chore outside - cleaning off the front porch area. But before she got to work, she needed to get dressed. She and her new baby doll, Itty Bitty, have matching pajamas and she loves to match her baby. Well, I found this black and white dress that also had a matching dress for a baby doll. And Millie decided she wanted to wear it that day...to work in. It was a little chilly so she put on a long-sleeved shirt and leggings on underneath, and completed the outfit with her work boots. So she got to work and while she cleaned off the porch, I swept the driveway. She then put on Jacade's work hat and got his hammer so she could do some other work around the yard. She ended up not doing anything else but did get the porch cleaned off (with a little of my help). And looked cute doing all of it too!

A visit from Mops and Pops

A little while ago, Mops and Pops came through Griffin on their way home and hung out with us for a couple of hours for my birthday. We had lunch and put together a dinosaur puzzle with Millie and then played Princess Dominoes with Millie. It was a quick trip but still fun.

Millie and her new friend, Sara

We went to Papa Stone's shop about a month ago to get our hair cut, and Papa Stone surprised Millie with a new friend. It is Sara from Land Before Time. This dinosaur moves (doesn't walk) and interacts with you, plays music and rocks. Needless to say, Millie loved her. She stays at Papa Stone's so she can visit with lots of children.

Playground Fun

Millie and I went to the park one day when the weather was somewhat decent (a little chilly as you can tell by the clothes she is wearing). But you know the cold isn't an issue to a child, especially when a playground is involved.

But Millie amazed me while we were there. She swung in a regular swing, all by herself and even pumped her legs. She didn't go real high by herself but she had the concept down. And she also went down the fireman's pole by herself too. This girl has no fear!

Expressing Yourself Through Art

In January, Millie and her classmates participated in an Art Show at Rock Springs Christian Academy. They were able to show off their beautiful, hand-crafted pieces to the parents, and the parents were able to purchase their artwork (and what parent isn't going to buy their precious child's handmade piece).
Millie just enjoyed running around with all of the other children and playing with her friend, Abigayle. She is starting to do a lot more drawings....what a great age!

You can imagine anything!!!

I took Millie with some of her classmates to Imagine It! Children's Museum in Atlanta on January 6, 2011. This was her second time visiting the museum and she had just as much fun. She played in the farm area, went grocery shopping, cooked in the kitchen, tried on clothes, played instruments, went fishing, played in the sand, painted on the wall (definitely not allowed at home!!) and had lunch with her school. There was a lot of activity and lots of kids there! But it was fun, nonetheless.

And no trip to Imagine It! would be complete without a chance to milk a cow!!!

Snow in January

We got a little bit of snow back in January, which Millie enjoyed very much. She was able to try out her new thermal overalls and boots.

Isn't the scenery beautiful in the snow?

Christmas in March

Okay, no, not really. But I have been absent with postings about Millie since right before Christmas. So now I am trying to get caught back up. It will probably take me a little while, but at least I have started.

Millie had a great Christmas. She got lots of things, like all kids. Pops made her a gorgeous baby cradle and Mops made the bedding to go in it, and it came complete with an adorable baby doll - Itty Bitty baby. And then, Aunt Lexi, Uncle Chris and Ryan gave Millie and Itty Bitty matching pajamas (it was a big hit).

She also got some clothes (what little girl doesn't need clothes) and some new boots from her parents, in addition to some art things, like an easel and art accessories.
