Just love this photo

Look Ma....No Hands!

Yes, Millie is now old enough (?) or stable enough to walk down these little steps without holding on. Wow, she really is getting older and bigger, and doing more things.

Millie and Sallie Rose

Tigtails....

Millie's sitter, Ms. Andrea, has a son, but loves to fix Millie's hair in pigtails. And Millie loves it too, although she won't let me fix her hair yet. I also can't get her to wear hair bows, but maybe one day she will come around.

But I did want to show y'all how cute she looks with pigtails...she calls them "tigtails".

Daddy's Girl

I snapped this photo real quick of Millie and her dad. She was just so interested in what he was doing on the computer.

Fashion Girl

A couple of weekends ago, Millie put on one of her new outfits and chose to wear her cowboy boots with it. I thought she looked rather cute!

Just a funny photo

The Crab Shack!!!

I know, I know, I am late in posting, but still wanted to record our trip.

Saturday night, the three of us drove out to Tybee Island to go to one of our favorite eateries, The Crab Shack. Of course, it was PACKED! We have never been where there were so many people. But we tried to stay entertained with all that was going on.

Mmmmm....taffy!!!

While in Savannah, on Saturday, we went walking in City Market, and stopped for a break, right outside the candy store. So I took Millie in and we were given a free piece of taffy. We also looked at the train and watched the conveyor belt pushing candy around the store. We then went outside and sampled the taffy.

A sense of direction

One day last week, I had picked Millie up from school and on our way home, we drove by one of our friends' house on Maple Street. Right as we were driving by, Millie pointed out the window and said, "Doug's house." WOW! How did she know that? I told her, happily, "Yes, that is Doug's house."

On Friday evening, she and I went to Jackson for the Relay for Life at the park. Millie's first babysitter, Melanie, is a cancer survivor. As we are driving to Jackson, we passed the High Falls Road on the right, and as Millie pointed to the road, she said, "Church." She really does pay attention to where we are going. I was impressed.

A sea of pink

I suggested to Jacade that we take the stroller with us when we went to Savannah. But no....it was just too much trouble. So on Saturday, we had decided we were going to walk around downtown Savannah. And who wants to walk around a big town, essentially holding a toddler the whole time?

So Jacade and Kevin went to the local Babies R Us and Jacade bought an inexpensive umbrella stroller. Sure was handy though, although it doesn't have great head support when your child is asleep.

Maybe next time, Jacade will listen to me!

Insane

While we were down on River Street in Savannah, this huge ship was passing by. I don't think I've ever seen something so big. And there is an optical illusion. It looks, for sure, that it is going to hit the bridge up ahead. Wow, how our eyes can play tricks on us.

So big!

I can't believe how big Millie has grown. She is so tall. She's definitely not a baby anymore :( but that's good too. She's in to a lot more things (good and bad) and is developing her personality everyday.

These are just a few pictures of her in the park across from Kevin and Cassie's house in Savannah. Running and marching; two of her favorite things to do these days.

Play time!

This past weekend, we went to Savannah to visit with our friends, Kevin and Cassie, and to meet their baby, Sallie Rose. On Friday afternoon, Cassie and I, and the babies went to the park for a few minutes. Millie had a good time on the slide and going up and down the stairs.

Millie dresses herself....sort-of

Over the weekend, Millie decided to "dress" herself. She found her boots and put those on, no problem, but then had a little trouble with her rain jacket. Still cute though.

Ready to go....new shoes

A couple of weeks ago, Millie finally got a pair of tennis shoes. They are so cute. Here she is with her new shoes on...ready to go....with Petals, her baby.

Look at those blue eyes

Here Dad, have a cold one...

Last night, I was looking for some vegetables in the freezer and I wasn't paying attention to what Millie was doing and then I heard Jacade say, "Thanks, Millie. That was nice."

Millie had gotten a cold beer stein that was in the freezer and took it to the dining room, where Jacade was, set it on the table and said, "Daddy." And he was actually already drinking a beer at the time. That was so sweet. And when we told her that, she just smiled real big. She was so proud of herself.
